Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, on Wednesday initiated a process targeted at resolving the accommodation problem of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, with the commencement of the construction of a 6,000 bed-capacity hostel.
The governor also laid the foundation stone for the skill acquisition workshop in the university.
Fayemi, represented by his deputy, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi, who spoke during the foundation laying the hostel and skill acquisition workshop, said they would be executed under a Public Private Partnership arrangement.
He explained that his administration was not oblivious of the accommodation deficiency confronting the students since the establishment of EKSU.
The governor said, “As a responsible and people-oriented government, we are here today to break the jinx of many years. It gladdens my heart to turn the sod for 6,000-capacity bed space hostel accommodation under the PPP.
