Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos insists his future will be decided “in the coming days” as he defends his early season form.

The 24-year-old was wanted by Lille in the summer transfer window but the Ligue 1 side wouldn’t meet the £20million asking price.

Manager Steven Gerrard admitted that the Colombian had his head turned by the interest, but has praised his performances in recent weeks.

As revealed by Record Sport though there is interest in Morelos from mega rich Al Duhail.

The Qatari club tried to lure the striker to the Middle East earlier in the summer and have until October 25 to try and make a deal happen.

Speaking on international duty Morelos said : “I’m very happy for this beautiful opportunity.

“Now I’ll take advantage of my time here.

“At the moment I’m thinking of the Colombian national team and whatever comes to Rangers I will decide in the coming days.”

El Bufalo was also quizzed over his early season form, with just three league goals so far this campaign.

Morelos replied: “The truth is statistics can say whatever you want.

“I don’t have to talk about my other team-mates because they do a good job, like me.

“They don’t watch Scottish football here, I’m doing well. You have to work, fight and there is healthy competition.

“The consistency I have had at Rangers is important. I have worked to be here. I have scored goals in the League and in the Europa League. I am proud of what I have done.”
