Pete Wicks was on hand to cheer up his good pal Sam Thompson after his ex Zara McDermott publicly apologised for cheating on him.

Sam shared a video of a drenched Pete turning up at his house after he battled the wet weather to make the visit.

As he stood on Sam’s doorstep in a soaked rain jacket, a motor cycle helmet and a backpack, TOWIE star Pete looked unimpressed.

However, Sam found the sight hilarious and thanked his pal for putting a smile on his face.

He captioned the video: “Always here to cheer a man up”, followed by a crying with laughter and muscle emoji.

Sam and Pete both then documented their trip to Sainsbury’s to buy some food and crockery among other things.

Despite his recent heartbreak, Pete teased Sam over his attempts to park his car, as he had some difficulty getting into a space as they went shopping.

Pete’s visit to Sam came one day after Zara McDermott wrote an open letter to Sam, begging for his forgiveness after cheating on him.

The former Love Island star, 23, described her behaviour as “immature” and a “huge mistake” in the typed apology on her Instagram stories.

There has been much speculation in the last few weeks that the star cheated on her Made In Chelsea boyfriend while taking part in X Factor: Celebrity last year.

This is the first time the young model has spoken out since the rumour surfaced.

In the post, Zara wrote: “Hey everyone, I just wanted to address the recent speculation in the media.

“A huge mistake I made a year ago has recently come to light and I want to face this head on.

“I don’t condone being unfaithful and I made a huge mistake at a time in my life where I was hugely selfish and immature.

“I believe I have learnt so much from my mistake.

“I want to apologise to my Sam for everything I have put him through, for the pain, the embarrassment, the anger and the hurt.

“All I want to do is make this right and I think the least he deserves is me being honest with myself and all of you.

“I love you Sam. Forever.”
