Zamfara State Government has paid N240 million to the National Examination Council (NECO) as 2020 registration fees for the SS3 pupils billed to write their final year examination.

Commissioner for Education Ibrahim Spirow said yesterday that the payment was for 24,236 SS3 pupils under the control of the government-owned schools.

“The administration of Governor Bello Matawalle has to pay this money considering the value it attaches to education. The examination body had protested it would not register pupils from Zamfara State unless the government paid their complete registration fees.”
