It’s been nearly nine years since the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, which brought the big screen saga of ‘the boy who lived’ to an end.

However, love for the Harry Potter films has endured, and to celebrate Vue is bringing back all eight movies to its cinemas for a special marathon fortnight. Yes, you’ll be able to revisit the films starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint et al, or catch them on the big screen for the first time.

The marathon will kick off with the first four Harry Potter films, showing at all Vue venues on the week commencing Friday, 2 October. Starting with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone fans can watch Harry’s journey of enrolling into the school of wizardry, right up to him entering a dangerous tournament in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Pottermania will continue at Vue from Friday, 9 October with the remaining four films of the famous franchise, with the epic saga coming to an end with the two-part Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Eduardo Leal, Head of Screen Content at Vue Entertainment, said: “The Harry Potter films are some of our most-requested at Vue so we are thrilled to be able to treat fans to the whole series.

“Whether you’re a hardcore fan who wants to binge the lot, a complete newcomer to the wizarding world, or if you just want to relive a particular favourite from the series, there is no better way to experience these great stories than on the big screen with the ultimate picture and sound quality.”

The marathon is all part of a renewed effort by cinema chains to lure customers back following the shut down caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Box office takings are down massively compared to 2019, and with studios continually pushing back their big releases to 2021, or releasing them straight to PVOD, tempting customers back has become increasingly difficult.
