The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission on Thursday denied deducting Bayelsa State’s funds in favour of Rivers State.
It said in a statement issued in Abuja by its Public Relations Officer, Christian Nwachukwu, that claims by the Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, allegedly accusing the commission of deducting the state’s revenue in favour of Rivers State following a high court ruling was not factual.
“This allegation does not in any way represent the fact,” the commission said.
It added, “It is in compliance with the judgment of the Federal High Court delivered on Monday, December 16, 2019 , by Justice I.E. Ekwo, in a suit No FHC/ABJ/C5/984/2019 between the Attorney-General of Rivers State – Plaintiff and National Boundary Commission – Defendant, that the commission attributed Soku Oil and Gas production to Rivers State.”
