Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed on Tuesday said his administration would seize all portions of land illegally acquired or allocated to users without adherence to due process.
Mohammed stated this while receiving the report of an administrative committee of inquiry into land disputes between herders and farmers in Bauchi.
The committee which conducted its assignment across all the 20 councils observed that land abuse and illegal allocation was becoming the norm in the state.
The governor, who declared the commitment of his administration to reacquire all lands illegally allocated to individuals across the state, said the government would not fold its arms to land racketeering in the state.
Mohammed expressed confidence that the recommendations of the committee will end farmer-herder clashes across the state.
He said the government would come up with a white paper to enable it to act on the recommendations.
He said an implementation committee to ensure due process and justice to all involved will be set up by the government.
