Arsenal’s preparations for the 2020/21 campaign continue as they aim to restructure their squad ahead of Mikel Arteta’s first full season at the helm.
Willian has arrived from Chelsea but the Gunners are keen to get much more business done before next term gets under way in three weeks.
Arsenal are said to have a few irons in the fire and are hopeful of concluding several deals this summer, while they may also move on a few current squad members.
We look at all the latest transfer news surrounding the club.
Arsenal eye shock Thiago move
Thiago Alcantara will feature for Bayern Munich in tonight’s Champions League final but Arsenal have been linked with a shock move for the player.
The Spain international has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool this summer, but the Gunners are now said to have entered the race.
That is according to a report in the Daily Mail, which does acknowledge that Bayern would need to lower their asking price before Arsenal are able to sign him.
The report adds that both Lucas Torreira and Mohamed Elneny would be among the players sold to fund a move.
Gunners linked to free agent Sarr
Arsenal are weighing up a move to sign central defender and free agent Malang Sarr, who left French club Nice this summer.
That is according to a report in the Daily Mail, who say the 21-year-old is on the radar of both the Gunners and Barcelona, with both clubs looking to bolster their squads without paying transfer fees.
The left-footed defender clocked up 119 appearances for the French club and was widely regarded as one of the best defenders in Ligue 1, but he couldn’t agree terms on a new contract.
However, it’s unclear if Arsenal will continue their pursuit should they secure the signature of defender Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille.
Gabriel set for Emirates switch
Lille defender Gabriel appears increasingly likely to join Arsenal this summer and football.london highlight an Instagram message which should give Gunners fans further hope.
The Brazilian’s Instagram page posted a message on his stories following on from the links of a switch to North London reading: “Gratitude. For the good things and the bad things that made me grow and mature.”
The 22-year-old – who was also reportedly the subject of late interest from Manchester United – looks set to cost Arsenal £25million.
Gabriel made 24 appearances for Lille last season and helped them to a top-four finish in France.
Holding transfer listed by Arsenal
Arsenal have placed central defender Rob Holding on the transfer list and he is now tipped to join Leeds United this summer.
A report in the Daily Star claims Holding is one of a number of players who has been made available to other clubs as Arteta seeks to reshape his squad this summer.
While David Luiz and Pablo Mari are staying at Arsenal next season, other defenders look set to make way.
It’s now claimed that Holding – whose time in north London has been disrupted by injuries – may be one of those to move on.
