After making the announcement, an official trailer followed next, showing fans a glimpse of what the game could be like.

The game is developed by Project Cars creators Slightly Mad Studios. Sources reveal that the game is set to be released in May 2020.

Although not many details about the gameplay have yet been disclosed, it is safe to say that gamers can expect plenty of high-speed cars, the majority of which will be outfitted with heavy weaponry set in a story-driven action game, with cinematic backdrop being an add-on.

A Bandai Namco press release described the game as “team-based, vehicular-heist action game” where players will “travel from the streets of exotic locales to the murky world of international espionage, pulling off high-speed heists and stunts as they battle to take down a new threat.”

Deemed to be one of the highly anticipated games of 2020, Fast & Furious Crossroads will also star ‘John Wick: Chapter 3’’s Asia Kate Dillon and ‘The Walking Dead’’s Sonequa Martin-Green.

Right after the trailer during the Game Awards, Rodriguez invited Vin Diesel onto the stage amidst huge cheers from the crowd.

Speaking on his own excitement on playing their characters from the movie in the game itself, Diesel further revealed to Rodriguez that he saw the four-minute trailer of the upcoming Fast & Furious 9 the previous night and unsurprisingly, according to him, ‘it was insane’.

Later, both stars presented the Game of the Year award to ‘Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice’.
