South Korea has become the world’s first country to launch 5th-Generation (5G) networks.

Three national mobile carriers introduced the first 5G-enabled smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S-10, across Seoul today.

One of the mobile carriers, LG U-plus, has collaborated with Chinese tech giant Huawei in deploying 5G base stations at over 10,000 sites.

The service is also available in other major cities outside Seoul.

South Korea reportedly hopes to extend its 5G network to 85 cities by the end of the year
