Christian Eriksen is not the type of player Tottenham Hotspur want to be losing, and so it has proved, with the club slapping a £130 million price tag on him.

Spurs have no desire to become a feeder club to Real Madrid, who snapped up Luka Modric and Gareth Bale from the North London side in recent years, but a fee of £130m would make Eriksen the third most expensive signing in the world, behind Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

The mouth-watering figure looks even more incredible, bearing in mind that Spurs signed Eriksen for just £13m from Ajax in 2013.
