TXT only debuted a week ago, but they’re already breaking records. Looks like they’re following in the footsteps of label-mates and sunbaes BTS.
The five-piece boyband have become the fastest K-pop group to chart on the Billboard 200, after their debut album The Dream Chapter: STAR entered the chart at number 140.
Billboard also confirmed that The Dream Chapter: STAR is the highest-charting debut album by any male K-pop group in history which is an amazing achievement.
TXT also known as Tomorrow x Together also saw The Dream Chapter: Star reach the top of a number of charts. The album, which features the band’s super-catchy debut song Crown, topped the World Album Chart as well as the Billboard Emerging Artists chart, which ranks the most popular ‘developing artists’ in the US.
Crown as topped the World Digital Sales chart, while Blue Orangeade debuted at no 10, Cat & Dog entered at no 14, and Our Summer reached no 17.
Yeonjun, Soobin, Hueningkai, Taehyun and Beomgyu debuted on 4 March, with their first showcase airing on Mnet that night. And now, TXT are firmly on the music show promo trail, having made their first appearance on Music Core over the weekend.
While the Big Hit band have obviously made it this far due their own talent, TXT have been gifted with advice from label-mates BTS, which they are truly taking to heart.
Singer Beomgyu last week revealed the advice given to them by BTS, which in turn they received from Big Hit CEO Bang Shi Hyuk. Speaking to Koreaboo, Beomgyu said: They emphasised a lesson they learned from Bang Shi Hyuk: Always remember the importance of the team.
Every time we run into them, they tell us, Always think of the team first. Become an amazing artist. We’re always looking out for you and cheering you on. They always give us warm advice whenever we see them. It gave me strength while I was training. Legends support legends, after all.
