The Umbrella Academy is an American web television series developed by Steve Blackman for Netflix.
It is an adaptation of the comic book series of the same name, created by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, and published by Dark Horse Comics.
The plot follows a highly dysfunctional family of superheroes: the Monocle, the Séance, Spaceboy, the Rumor, the Kraken, Number Five, the Horror and the White Violin, as they reunite to try and solve the mystery of their adoptive father’s death.
Filming began on January 15, 2018 in Toronto, Ontario, and ended on July 18, 2018.
The first season is scheduled to premiere on February 15, 2019.
