The Gabonese star Aubameyang and Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette have struck up a good partnership at Arsnal.

Aubameyang netted his 15th league goal of the campaign against Cardiff City Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed he prefers playing alongside another striker.

Alexandre Lacazette in Arsenal’s attack line rather than playing upfront alone.

According to UK Metro citing Sky Sports, Gunners boss Unai Emery has tried the pair of Aubameyang and Lacazette in various tactical formation, and has even played one of them in the wing using 4-2-3-1 formation at the start of the campaign.

However, Aubameyang, who is currently Arsenal’s first-choice forward under Emery insists he will be ready to play any role the Spaniard assigns him.

“My favourite role is playing striker, in front. I also like playing on the wing, but I think my best position is striker.

“I like to play with two up front, it’s nice because you can do some combinations with the other strikers.

If the coach needs me on the right or on the left, it doesn’t matter, I go and I fight for the team, it’s no problem,” the Gabonese star stressed.

Interestingly, during Aubameyang’s stay at France, he faced Lacazette on the pitch at number of times while he was still at Lyon but no love was lost.

“We were rivals before in France, I was not expecting for him to be my friend, but today is different,” he said. “At first when I came here, he gave me a lot of confidence, because we spoke straight.

“We have the same vision about football, which is a good point between us, and that’s the point that started this friendship.

“When one comes to the ball, the other goes deep. It’s about filling in. You lift your head up and see he is going into space, it’s about feeling as well.

If we have to give the ball to a guy in better space, you have to give him the ball. That’s what happens between us,” he said.

At the last count, Aubameyang is still in contention for the Premier League topscorer award this season after netting 15 goals so far, with his strike partner Lacazette also finding the back of the net scoring 9 times.

Earlier, It’sb understood that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang emerged the fastest Arsenal player to score 25 Premier League goals for the Emirates dwellers.
