Netflix have ordered a second series of Sex Education with production beginning in the spring.
An estimated 40million of binged the show within the first four weeks of it dropping on the streaming service, so it comes as no surprise that it’s been booked for a further eight episodes.
All of our favourite characters will be returning to the small-screen with Gillian, Asa Butterfield, Emma Mackey, Ncuti Gatwa, Aimee-Lou Wood, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Tanya Reynolds and Patricia Allison all reprising their roles.
Speaking about the recommission, showrunner Laure Nunn said: ‘The reception to series one has been so exciting.
Seeing how people across the world have connected to characters that began as ideas in my head is incredible.
I’m hugely grateful to every person that has taken the time to watch the series, and I can’t wait to continue this amazing journey.
Ncuti Gatwa, who plays Eric on the show confirmed that a second series was being planned.
Everyone is very excited to see what may happen in series two. ‘I don’t know whether we’re going to get one but I know there is early script developments going on. I hope that we get another one, fingers crossed. We shall see.
