President Muhammadu Buhari will on Saturday, February 2, in Jigawa state receive thousands of PDP defectors to the APC
Including the first civilian governor of the state, Ali Sa’ad Birnin-Kudu, a PDP governorship aspirant, Tijjani Kiyawa and former commissioners who served under PDP-led Sule Lamido administration.
Buhari is also expected to be presenting the party’s flag to the APC gubernatorial candidate in the coming election, Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.
Some notably PDP defectors will be welcomed into the APC by the president include former commissioner of works and transport for eight years under Sule Lamido’s reign, Baba Aliyu, former commissioners of water resources and special duties, Abdulkadir Jinjiri Dutse and Auwalu Harbo. Buhari’s visit to Jigawa state is in continuation of his presidential campaign ahead of the general election.
The Jigawa state Hisbah Board, has said it has mobilised 335 personnel ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign visit to the state slated for Saturday, February 2.
The board’s commander, Malam Ibrahim Dahiru, made this known in Dutse on Friday, February 1.
Dahiru said the personnel were expected to partner with other security agents in providing adequate security throughout the president’s stay.
