Gonzalez was very livid with the way the match official cancelled his late minute goal against his club’s opponent Sant Cugat which could have given them a point. Manlleu and Sant Cugat are both playing in the Spanish fifth tier football in which Cugat won the encounter 1-0 away from home. But the shocking incident actually happened in the added time when the home team launched a counter attack against the visitors.
Goalkeeper Ivan Gonzalez also joined in the attack in an attempt to restore parity which eventually came only for the referee to cancelled the goal.
Ivan Gonzalez and his teammates were even celebrating the goal before they heard the whistle that the goal scored was not legit. And immediately Ivan Gonzalez saw the signal from the referee, he fell down on his knees to plead for the official to allow the goal.
But the referee did not and his decision invited the anger of Ivan Gonzalez who then kicked him afterwards. The referee however fell to the ground as Sant Cugat players rushed to help him and Gonzalez ran away.
