The eight-day police siege at the home of Senator Dino Melaye ended today after the he surrendered to the police.

In the video shared by Channels TV, the senator looks really emaciated and unable to walk as two men helped him into the police building.

The senator and lawmakers who came to his house to show solidarity are heading to the police headquarters as at the time of filing this report.

PAY ATTENTION: Chief Mike Ozekhome, who is Senator Dino Melaye’s lawyer, had earlier claimed that the lawmaker was denied food and water due to the siege by policemen in house.

In a statement on Monday, December 31, the lawyer said the policemen have made it difficult for the lawmaker to enjoy his basic human right due to how he has been treated.
