The United Kingdom chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has urged members of the party to desist from bickering and rally behind the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Leader of the chapter, Ade Omole, made the call in a statement released on Thursday in Abuja.

He said the current bickering within the party’s rank and file was not in its interest, especially as elections are drawing closer.

He especially appealed to leaders and members who were aggrieved as a result of the outcome of the party’s primaries, to close ranks and support the party in the forthcoming general elections, stressing, “coming together and staying together is good, but working together toward 2019 General elections is essential to winning in 2019.’’

Omole charged members of the party to always bear in mind that the party should be seen to be supreme at all times.

According to the Chapter leader who is currently in Nigeria, he has had closed door meetings with Oshiomhole and Lanre Onilu, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, as well as other other stakeholders to plan ahead of the electioneering campaigns which kick off on November 18.

He assured the party’s leadership that members of the party in the Diaspora were already working to ensure the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019, insisting that Buhari “remained the darling of Nigerians because he had delivered on APC’s 2015 major campaign promises.”

Ade Omole further claimed that Buahri still commanded the goodwill of the electorate notwithstanding the fake news and half-truths making the rounds on social media.

He said the president deserved a second term to consolidate on his achievements but. stressed the need for a complete change in attitude and political orientation of some of the stakeholders in the part ahead of the 2019 general elections.
