It’s an all-Williams affair – the ninth Grand Slam final between Serena and Venus!
The final will be the oldest in women’s tennis history. The Williams sisters are at a combined age of 71, while the older of them, Venus becomes the oldest Grand Slam finalist since Martina Navratilova at Wimbledon in 1994.
There was plenty of room for sentiment on Thursday as the Williams sisters set up a ninth Grand Slam final meeting – a feat eclipsed only by Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova, who met in 14 finals between 1975 and 1986.
