The verse Prov. 3:5-6 is frequently recited ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct your paths’. But we often overlook the subsequent verse… ‘Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn away from evil.’ It shall be health to your nerves and sinews and marrow and moistening to your bones’.
We can see the emphasis of how the word of God admonishes and connects our physical health to how we trust, acknowledge, revere, and worship Him, each of these is linked to our emotional well-being and by deciding to obey and do them irrespective of how we feel – we fuel our physical bodies with God – given health.
On the other hand, when we allow our emotions to run amok through anger, forgiveness, bitterness, guilt, grief, and giving room to these evil devices to take a foothold in our lives, our physical bodies becomes affected – and the trips to the Doctors office and medication commences without warning.
Phil 4:7 And the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and mind through Christ Jesus’.
Let’s keep it simple – With Gods’ help we can learn to manage every negative emotion that comes our way daily, it is inevitable while in this world. This will take a degree of self-control on our part to succeed: as you read this simple nugget, I assure you your emotion is about to be tested – and by Christ Jesus you have the power to resist and by making a conscious effort you can respond positively. You can rise above your emotions, don’t rise to the bait: because you are not what you feel. This is an ongoing battle.
Manage your emotions, good or bad: Its Gods will for you to be emotionally healthy and constantly at peace.
3 John 1:2 –‘ Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers’.
