THE terrorist police believe is responsible for the Berlin Christmas market attack has been killed after a shootout with police in Milan, according to Italian police.
Anis Amri has been shot dead in Italy after a confrontation with police
Amri is believed to have hijacked a lorry, shot the driver dead and then rampaged through a bustling Christmas market in Berlin, killing 12 and injuring 48.
A Europe-wide search for the Tunisian-born 24-year-old yielded no results initially, but it is now believed Amri has now been killed.
Police claim Amri shouted “Allahu Akbar” before dying.
Amri has previously lived in Italy and spent four years in prison for setting fire to a school.
