A plumber in Ikaramu-Akoko in Akoko North West local government area of Ondo State, Mr. Kayode Agboola, has been arrested over his alleged killing of a commercial motorcycle rider, Akinola Emmanuel.

Agboola, who is presently cooling his heels at the net of Ekiti State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital was said to have hired the deceased to take him to a nearby village in Ekiti State.

It was gathered that Agboola allegedly killed the Okada rider in a bush and took the motorcycle away.

Reasons for Agboola’s action is still unknown as at press time.

Luck was said to have ran against the suspect when he was apprehended by NSCDC officials and he confessed to the crime.

Meanwhile, the people of Ajowa Akokko are calling on the police and government to bring the alleged killer to book, alleging that some powerful people were attempting to sweep the matter under the carpet.

A man from Ajowa Akoko, identified as Michael who refused to disclose his other names said,” He (suspect) must not be spared.

“This notorious murderer, who terminated the promising life of Akinola should be brought to book by the power of the law of the land.

“He (suspect) is now in the custody of the police. The world is waiting for the police not to be be smeared by injustice, the power of money and influence.

” The world should hear about this nefarious, wicked, merciless and man to man calculated cruelity meant on this innocent boy.This young boy must not die in vain. His killer must be brought to book.”

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Command, Mr. Femi Joseph confirmed the incident but said the case was yet to be transferred from Ekiti State Command of the NSCDC to Ondo Police Command.

He said, ” The suspect and the victims had been customers to each other for quite a long time.

“But on December 4, 2016, he hired the deceased to take him on his (decased) motorcycle to his (suspect) farm where he killed him and took his motorcycle to Ado Ekiti where he was arrested by the men of the NSCDC in Ekiti State.

” We are waiting for the NSCDC to release the suspect to us for proper investigation and prosecution.”

He further stated that the remains of the deceased had been evacuated from the scene of the killing and deposited at a morgue.
